Girolle / Cantharel

Girolles, also known as chanterelles, are loved for their delicate and fruity flavor, reminiscent of apricots. These mushrooms have a characteristic funnel-shaped cap with a golden yellow color and a slightly ribbed edge. They often grow in deciduous and coniferous forests, and are harvested in the summer and fall. Girolles thrive on trees such as birch and pine, and are often found in moist, shady environments.
